Jura Progress Update [November 1st 2018 — November 15th 2018]
Dear Jura Community Members
Over the past two weeks we’ve been focusing on our technical milestones and business development goals at an aggressive pace, but not only that we’ve also been focusing on several large partnerships that will help drive mainstream adoption for our project.
Here are some snippets on what we’ve been working on and achieved in the past two weeks!
1. Technology Development Progress
1.1. Sharding
- Our sharding framework has three layers, and recently we finished our second layer: a Validation Cache Layer based on the LRU algorithm. This layer will help us protect again penny attacks and improve the overall system security
1.2. Wallet
- Successfully deployed Jura Wallet on iOS, Android, and web platform based on React Native and standard webpack framework
1.3. Encryption
- Conducted extensive research on DKG algorithm framework, BLS-M-of-N Threshold Schema, and Distributed Key Generation algorithm.
- Implemented Jura’s Unique DKG algorithm, and evaluated its performance compared to common DKG
2. Business, Events & Marketing
2.1. Beijing International Finance Expo 2018 — Guest Speaker
JURA’s Iris Yang was invited to address delegates at the Beijing International Finance Expo (BIFE) 2018 about the prospects and applications of blockchain in Finance. BIFE is also known to be the first and most influential finance expo in China attracting many industry leaders from around the globe.
2.2. 1st Annual China Blockchain Application Research Center
JURA’s delegation was invited to attend the 1st Annual China Blockchain Application Research Center conference held in Beijing on November 3rd. Iris Yang, along with other thought leaders, shared her vision for the future of blockchain and was later interviewed on-site for an in-depth discussion about the current technological landscape of blockchain.
2.3. Jura Open Class: Mainstream Encryption
On November 4th, Jura’s Head Developer and Cryptographer, Dr. Cameron Wang lectured more than a thousand developers about the technology behind mainstream encryption algorithms. He also discussed the encryption algorithms behind Jura.
2.4. Community Event: T-Shirt Design Elections
On November 9th, we launched a T-Shirt Design Election to engage our community and give away free shirts to 10 lucky winners. The election ended on November 12th and more than three thousand people voted from various social media channels. The design below was voted by more than 80% of the community and congratulations to the lucky winners!
